Cold Capping Across Canada
Helping Preserve Your Hair During Chemotherapy
Chemo Caps Canada is proud to offer Cold Capping services across Canada, providing a supportive option to help reduce hair loss during chemotherapy.
Cold caps, also known as scalp cooling, are specialized caps worn during chemotherapy treatments to help preserve hair. These caps are filled with a cooling gel or used with dry ice to significantly lower scalp temperature. This cooling constricts blood vessels in the scalp, reducing the amount of chemotherapy medication that reaches the hair follicles—helping to minimize hair loss.
How Cold Capping Works
To be most effective, cold caps are worn before, during, and after chemotherapy treatments to maintain consistent scalp cooling.
Pre-Treatment
The cold cap is placed on the scalp approximately 30 minutes before chemotherapy begins.
During Treatment
The cap remains on throughout the entire chemotherapy session, maintaining a low scalp temperature and reducing blood flow to hair follicles.
Post-Treatment
The cold cap continues to be worn for approximately 90 minutes after chemotherapy to ensure optimal results.

Because every person’s experience with cold capping is unique—and results can vary—we are pleased to offer peace of mind.
