Shaving your head too close can cause discomfort and even lead to pain, as the scalp becomes very sensitive when hair begins to fall out.

Additionally, cutting your hair too short can result in the short strands becoming like Velcro, which increases the risk of irritation and even infection. To minimize discomfort and keep your scalp safe, aim for a length that’s no shorter than the size of a grain of rice.
